HB 2647 – Passed

Description- Allows for voluntary submission of proposed measure language for review prior to application for petition and after statement of organization has been filed.

 

Changes the definition of petition signature fraud from “submitting” to “collecting” signatures that are known to be fraudulent.

 

HCR 2018 - Passed

Description- Requires that initiative petition be filed with the Secretary of State not less than six months preceding the date of the election.

 

HCR 2039 – Failed

Description- Requires that initiative petitions be filed with the Secretary of State no later than six months prior to the election.

 

SB 1393 – Passed

Description- Requires that any political committees formed to impact ballot measures must file an amended statement of organization regarding any changes to their name, the serial number of the petition, and any statement of support or opposition to the passage of the measure.

 

Also requires that any committee that spends money in connection with advertisements include the words “paid for by” and the name of the committee  or file an exemption statement.

 

Further requires that the Secretary of State not count sheets that have been distributed by a circulator that has been prohibited from participating in any election or ballot measure within 20 days of the election.

 

SB 1422 – Passed

Description- Modifies nomination petitions and address requirements. Requires that the burden of proof falls on the challenger if any challenges are made.
